Santa Charity Sessions - {Layton Children's Photography}

I know that Christmas is in the past, but I still wanted to share the amazing experiences we had with the Santa Charity Sessions.  It was so much fun!  There was a fairly wide range of ages, and it was really interesting to see how they each reacted to Santa.  Some were shy, some were terrified, and others (mostly the older kids), were just thrilled:-)

When each child came in, we brought them on to our wonderful Holiday themed set, including a real Christmas tree (it made the whole place smell soooo good!).  We started out doing just some cute portraits, but then at a special queue, Santa would quietly come out and pose behind the kids.  They never even knew he was there!  We were able to get gorgeous photos of each of the kids with Santa, even the ones were shy or afraid of him.  Once we got that magical image, we introduced them, and they got to interact with Santa for a while.  No one was forced to sit on his lap, and we were able to take our time so the little ones could warm up to him.  The older ones really enjoyed laughing and joking with Santa, and telling him all they wanted for Christmas.

It was wonderful to donate all the session fees this year to Primary Children's Medical Hospital.  I have worked with this hospital many times over the years, and it was wonderful to give back in such a positive way.  The cost of medical care is astronomical, and can be such a burden on families.  I know that every little bit we are able to give will help lighten the burden for some of them.

Here are some of my favorite images from this year's session!

This was right after he saw Santa.  Isn't that the cutest little pouty lip?  Don't worry, he warmed up to Santa, and they were able to play a little together.

The boys were sooo excited to meet Santa!  Their little sister, not so much, lol.  I am glad we got the one of the Santa peeking out from the tree:-)
My own boy, growing up so fast.  I know pretty soon he won't be thinking much about Santa anymore, so this photo is extra special.

I gotta say it.  Those curls just KILL me!  So freakin' adorable!

At first, he was terrified of Santa, but after some gentle coaxing he came out of his shell a little, and the two played quietly together.  He was fascinated by the little plane:-)
